View of Mequon Community Park with trees, picnic tables and playgroundRead a book, slide and swim. The Mequon Community Park is a vital resource for our community, as it links the Mequon-Thiensville library, public pool, Ozaukee Interurban Trail and a fantastic park for families.

Picture this fun summer day . . .

Meet your friends and their kids at the Mequon Community Park for a playdate on the tot pirate ship playground. Munch peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for lunch at one of the shaded picnic tables. Then, walk across the lawn to the Frank L. Weyenberg Library for Story Time and some coloring in the kids’ room.

Next on the agenda . . .

Splash and swim in the Mequon Community Pool, conveniently located just across the parking lot from the library. Hungry kids? The Dive Snack Stand adjacent to the pool is the perfect place for a mid-afternoon ice cream treat.

And, if you still have some time and energy . . .

Catch a baseball game at Rennicke Field, where teams from all over Mequon and Thiensville come to play ball.

Location, Location, Location

This 16 acre park is located right next to Mequon City Hall just off of Cedarburg Road. It’s a central meeting area for many residents and a perfect place to meet a friend for a chat. It’s also a popular spot for a birthday party. The kids can play, have cake and ice cream at the picnic tables — and, you don’t have the hassle of hosting anything at your home.

The Mequon Community Park is also a great in-between destination for runners with young kids. Put your child(ren) in a jogger, hop on the Ozaukee Interurban Trail (which runs right behind the park) and run over to the park to play. When you’re done, run home. You get your workout and the kids get their playtime.

There’s no other park in Mequon which offers this many activities in such close proximity — the Weyenburg Library, Mequon’s Community Pool, Rennicke Baseball Field, Ozaukee Interurban Bike Trail and the park itself. You name it. This park has a lot to offer Mequon families and children, especially during our beautiful summer season.
